Nowadays, she mainly investigates how stars and planets form. She is especially interested in how the environment plays a role in these processes. Currently, the solar system and interstellar objects are the focus of her research.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She works at the J\u00fclich Supercomputing Centre, lectures as an associate professor at the University of Cologne, and performs research at the Max-Planck for Radioastronomy, Bonn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other interests are how the change in methodology towards simulations and machine learning alters the epistemological value of our research results.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Susanne Pfalzner is a German astrophysicist who started her career in laser-plasma physics.
