Susanne Pfalzner is a German astrophysicist who started her career in laser-plasma physics. Nowadays, she mainly investigates how stars and planets form. She is especially interested in how the environment plays a role in these processes. Currently, the solar system and interstellar objects are the focus of her research.

She works at the J├╝lich Supercomputing Centre, lectures as an associate professor at the University of Cologne, and performs research at the Max-Planck for Radioastronomy, Bonn.

Other interests are how the change in methodology towards simulations and machine learning alters the epistemological value of our research results.
